Meet Rupert, the founder of Dare & Do, a lover of the outdoors and all things adventure. He has some top tips about how to introduce a sense of wander and excitement into your children’s bedrooms, helping to get the Dare & Do look.
Dare & Do is a new children’s home accessories brand designed and made in Britain, established by husband and wife duo Sophie and Rupert Davies. Rupert and Sophie along with expert craftsmen produce all of the Dare & Do designs in the UK themselves. Posters are hand silk screen printed in their studio, their British bone china mugs are decorated in Stoke-on-Trent, the wallpaper is printed onto responsibly sourced paper stocks in Cheshire, fabric comes from Lancashire, parchment lamps come from the West Country and cushions are printed in Brighton.
- Mix and Match! – Choose from pink elephants, blue cowboys, turquoise canoes and green motorbikes. The bright colours of the collection look great together, so there’s no need to stick to just one design. My daughter loves the elephant print and my son loves the cowboy, but the combination of the two makes for a really vibrant space for your kids. Contrast the turquoise canoe story with yellow, green motorbike story with lilac, pink elephant story with lime and blue cowboy with orange.
- It’s all in the Dare & Do details – You don’t need a complete redesign to get the Dare & Do look. You can transform a kid’s bedroom with lamps, prints, cushions or all stickers in an instant, and for a fraction of the price.
- Work with what you have – Once your kid’s room is complete, dress it up and have some fun and think outside the box. How about a cowhide rug in a cowboy bedroom, a mounted felt elephant head with the elephant print, vintage paddles in a canoe treehouse or playroom, or old tin cars on a shelf against our motorbike print wallpaper?
