Summer Holiday Activities for Kids

It’s the summer holidays! Yay!

Well at least it’s exciting for the children. I’m sure you are probably tearing your hair out. It’s great to entertain children with activities that will educate them, besides getting your child to help redecorate their bedroom, here are a few other activities to get you started:

Gardening

Yes! Why not? Get your little ones in the garden and teach them about planting seeds, watering and making them grow! After learning about planting and growing a chickpea. When I got home, I planted every seed I could find in the house. Getting pots of herbs on your next shopping trip and re-potting them is a good idea.

Baking

Kids just love baking and decorating cakes. I also get them to tidy up when they are done! why should adults do all the boring tasks? Give your child a challenge. Maybe get family and friends round to join in and have a cookie challenge.

Crafting

My passion. There are so many things you can do with your child when it comes to crafting. A week ago while volunteering with the LOOP, the children made superhero capes. Yes it was messy, but look on the bright side of life; the children loved and cherished them. You can make greeting cards, art for their room or gifts for a friend, or even back to school felt pencil holder. Check out Pinterest and Youtube for many more amazing ideas.

Dream Big

Encourage your child to dream big. To think about the future. What do they want to be when they grow up? Get them to visualise it and make a vision board. My wonderful friend Toks from Punkin Patch, inspired me to create one (so far I have one image), Im now motivated to complete it. You can even do one for your self!
